Inflatable Backdrop Sets the Stage for Music-Tour Success

When your music tour keeps moving from city to city, you want stage scenery you can set up and take down quickly at every stop.

To meet that need, Life Is Art Studios, a Raleigh, NC-based production company, turned to Landmark Creations. 

Life Is Art was responsible for stage design for Camp Superdope!, a touring DJ show that ran throughout January-February 2020. And according to Production Manager and Lighting Director TeBo, Life Is Art faced a daunting challenge.

They needed an inflatable backdrop that would make a big impact on stage and capture the tour's whole feel...yet still assemble and dis-assemble easily for fast, convenient transport. 

"Every professional set designer I reached out to was intimidated by the build," reports TeBo, "and all roads eventually led me to Landmark. Once we decided that the set has to be an inflatable, Landmark was the obvious choice."

Working with TeBo, Landmark created a giant inflatable arch – 20 feet wide and 11.5 feet high – resembling rustic hand-hewn wooden beams. 

According to TeBo, the custom inflatable "was the backbone of our whole stage design and helped us bring the audience into the [camping] theme by giving the visual cues to the atmosphere."

Music lovers apparently agree. The Camp Superdope! Tour was a success coast-to-coast throughout its run.
